Franc

Franc has maintained a keen interest in electronics, audio and lighting for over 30 years, from working with valve radios in primary school and helping with the sound and lighting for high school stage productions to the 80's when he and John built their own amplifiers, speakers, and lighting systems for use at private functions. He went on to complete a Radio Trades apprenticeship at DSTO Salisbury and subsequently worked for Clipsal Integrated Systems as a manufacturing test engineer and complete an Advanced Diploma in Electronics.

He has recently completed a Diploma of Music (Sound Engineering) at the Elder Conservatorium of Music and is currently serving on the committee of the AES Audio Engineering Society (Adelaide Chapter).

He helped John setup "JF Audio" in 2004 and then his own business in 2006.

John

John has a keen interest in electronics for over 30 years with a passion for circuit design and product development. Interest in working on the technical side of performing arts was supported well through secondary school gaining knowledge on all aspects of audio and lighting systems. He continued on by studying electronic engineering and gained a Certificate in Sound Engineering from SAE during the mid 80's. During this time, he also worked in the field of custom and high end automotive audio and accessories installations (Tonkin's Autophonics, Burford Car Radio and Cartronics). In the late 80's, he worked as an electronic technician and at Astco Sound Services providing hire and installation of public address and music reinforcement systems. In the 90's he was employed as senior electronic product designer and later as the supervisor of a large electronic test and repair department.
Since 2000, he has been working at DSTO in a defence laboratory management role and also worked with Franc to develop his own business "JF Audio" and more recently, the sound/lighting/video "20Sound" business as it is today.
